Mirella Petersen, president of the Utah Autism Coalition, gave a wonderful interview on The Doug Wright Show today. We're so thankful to Doug for taking the time to meet with her and for allowing us to continue informing the public regarding autism and the issues surrounding it. Below you will find the audio clip which contains yesterday's interview:
I so appreciate your comments, Mirella! I wanted to come to the breakfast at the capitol this morning too but had to go to a psych eval for my son first thing this am. So sorry I had to miss! You know I support you and this organization! I will do everything I can to support the UAC in their fight for health insurance. Thank you, thank you for all you have done! I did some studying over the past few weeks on a few other syndromes running in the family. In our family we have Williams Syndrome and Van Der Woude Syndrome as well running strong in the family genes. I learned that Williams syndrome is caused by a genetic mutation on the 7th chromosome and that the link between Williams Syndrome and Autism is that both have been found to have mutations on the 7th Chromosome. It has been interesting how he shows symptoms of both syndromes. I think there are several things causing it but I really think genetic mutations are a big possibility.
